(Fig. 1)<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><a href=\"http:\/\/imaginingancientcorinth.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-780\" src=\"http:\/\/imaginingancientcorinth.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/1-300x150.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"742\" height=\"371\" srcset=\"https:\/\/imaginingancientcorinth.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/1-300x150.png 300w, https:\/\/imaginingancientcorinth.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/1-768x384.png 768w, https:\/\/imaginingancientcorinth.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/1-1024x511.png 1024w, https:\/\/imaginingancientcorinth.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/1.png 1598w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 742px) 100vw, 742px\" \/><\/a><\/h6>\n<h6>(Fig.1 Main menus and drop down)<\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Table of Contents <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">leads to the passages about ancient Corinth in Pausanias\u2019 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Description of Greece<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>More Readings<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> contains additional readings and stories to complement the Pausanias readings. \u00a0They include passages about Corinthian mythology from Apollodorus\u2019 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Library<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Paul\u2019s mission to Corinth from Acts of the Apostles, Paul\u2019s First Letter to the Corinthians, the Sack of Corinth in 146 BCE by Zonaras and Strabo, Flamininus proclaiming the \u201cFreedom of the Greeks\u201d in 196 BCE, short poems by Antipater, etc. In general, More Readings are presented from easiest to hardest, and as a result, it turns out that they are presented in reverse chronological order. Of course, the reader (or the instructor) can choose to read these passages in whatever order they prefer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Resources<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Grammar, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and<\/span><b> Vocab<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> pages contain links to media files, maps, and family trees, supplemental lessons on Greek grammar, and vocabulary listed by frequency in Pausanias and Greek literature.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Main Readings<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each reading\u2014with vocabulary glosses and brief historical and cultural notes\u2014can be found on the left side of the screen and is accompanied by four additional components on the right side: a map, pre-reading activities, post-reading activities, and a culture essay. The title gives a brief idea of what the chapter is about. \u00a0If there is not a title, the story is continued from the previous page.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each page contains a segment of a story in manageable sections. \u00a0These passages are always in Ancient Greek. Blue words indicate there is a definition of the word or a brief historical or cultural note. \u00a0To view the definition or note, hover the cursor over the word. A display box should appear with the meaning or more information. This gives the reader a geographical orientation for the passage. \u00a0Clicking on any of the dots will bring up a display box with the name of the place and a little more information. Some images are prose text, while some chapters contain a family tree, e.g., for Ino and Melicertes. At the end of Book 1, the arrow will take the reader to Book 2.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This explanation also applies to all of the passages in the <\/span><b>More Reading<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> menu.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mobile Viewing Tips<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The major difference in function between the desktop and mobile version of the website is that the main passage stacks on top of the map and other tabs. \u00a0The other tabs are accessed from a drop-down menu, indicated by the arrow next to the map tab.
